Because of the nature of the hand-printing process, colour and pattern variations are to be expected and celebrated. No two textiles are exactly alike, and each fabric and home furnishing item has been lovingly and carefully made from start to finish by a community of specialized artisans.
Care instruction labels are attached to each product. Please follow these carefully. In case there are no care instruction labels, kindly contact us or follow the below cleaning methods.
Stains:
In the event of a stain to your product, the best approach is to remove the stain immediately. It is best to scrape off dried stains. Start from the edge of the stain and scrape towards the middle. Be gentle to avoid damaging the fibres. You can remove wet stains by placing a kitchen roll over the stain. Then use tepid water on a cloth or sponge. Moisten the stain, soak up the water with the kitchen roll, and then repeat until the stain has gone. Take care to avoid getting the product too wet; you can also blot with a dry cloth to avoid over wetting. Do not rub the stain, as this makes it more difficult to remove and can also damage the fibres.
Curtain Fabric Care:
While printed or dyed furnishing materials have an inherent resistance to fading, all fabrics will fade eventually. Therefore, we suggest lining your curtains if practical and drawing them back from the window during daylight whenever possible.
All woven fabrics, especially those made from natural fibres, will shrink to a certain extent and we recommend an allowance of 3% to 5% for this process. Even dry cleaning can cause shrinkage, although usually to a lesser degree than washing. For this reason, it is best to allow generous hems, loosely stitched to enable adjustments after the first washing or cleaning; side seams or attached linings should be hand slipped if possible to allow for the differential movement between face and lining fabrics.
Curtains made from natural fibres may also shrink, or indeed drop, due to fluctuations in atmospheric conditions (for example, variation of temperature or humidity such as excessive heat or dryness from radiators or excessive moisture from condensation).
For ADITYA AHUJA fabrics, we recommend professional dry cleaning only.
Quilt Care:
For ADITYA AHUJA quilts, we recommend professional dry cleaning only. Dry cleaning helps preserve colours and fibres to best enhance the lifespan of your quilt.
However, we understand that this might not always be feasible. If you choose to wash your quilt at home please try to follow the steps below, and do note that we are not liable for any mishaps!
Should you decide to wash your quilt, we suggest washing in cold water, preferably by hand or on the gentlest cycle setting in a machine with a gentle, pH-neutral soap or laundry detergent. Please note that some natural dyes, especially indigo, will bleed during the first few washings, so we recommend washing the quilt separately or with like colours. Air dry flat if possible – if not, hang to dry.
With proper care our quilts should give you years of pleasure!
Baby Blankets & Dohar Summer Blankets:
Cotton mulmul is a soft, breathable fabric that is incredibly easy to care for and stays soft wash after wash. Here are a few tips to care for your ADITYA AHUJA mulmul blanket.
For ADITYA AHUJA blankets we strongly recommend hand washing.
Fill a basin with warm water and add a pH-neutral soap or laundry detergent. Mix the water and detergent, using your hands to gently agitate your item. Soak for one hour. Do not worry if colour appears in your water, this is normal. Run cool water through the item until the rinse water is no longer soapy. Squeeze or push out the water. Hang to dry or lay flat.
However, we understand that this is not always feasible. If you need to machine-wash your quilt please try to follow these steps and do note that we are not liable for any mishaps!
Set machine to a normal cycle. Select cold for colours and warm for whites. Before placing items of like colours in the machine, remove anything that has Velcro, zippers or snaps to prevent the fastenings from snagging. Once the cycle is finished, remove items promptly from the washing machine. Hang to dry or lay flat if possible. If not, tumble dry on low.
With proper care our blankets should give you years of pleasure!
Cushion Covers:
For ADITYA AHUJA linen cushion covers, we recommend professional dry cleaning only. Dry cleaning helps preserve colours and fibres to best enhance the lifespan of your cushion cover.
However, we understand that this might not always be feasible. If you choose to wash your cushion cover at home please try to follow the steps below, and do note that we are not liable for any mishaps!
Wash in medium to cool water, either by hand or on the gentlest cycle setting in a machine with a gentle, pH-neutral soap or laundry detergent. Please note that some natural dyes, especially indigo, will bleed during the first few washings, so we recommend washing your cushion covers alone or with like colours. Air dry flat if possible – if not, hang to dry. Iron while the fabric is still damp, if needed – use a medium-hot iron on the steam setting.
With proper care our cushion covers should give you years of pleasure!
